Research Associate – Department of Liberal Arts (IIT Hyderabad)

The Department of Liberal Arts at IIT Hyderabad is inviting applications for the temporary position of Research Associate under the Institute Seed Grants Project. This is an excellent opportunity for young researchers and scholars who wish to work on data-driven research in public finance, sub-national fiscal policies, and applied econometrics.

The appointment is purely temporary and project-based, offering exposure to academic research and analytical work within one of India’s premier institutions.

✅ Position Details

• Designation: Research Associate

• Number of Positions: 03

• Salary: ₹32,000 – ₹42,000 per month

• Tenure: Initially for 3 months, extendable up to 5 months depending on project requirement and fund availability.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Minimum):

• PhD / M.Phil / Post-Graduation in Economics or allied disciplines

• Minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree

Required Skills:

• Strong academic writing ability

• Capability to analyze panel dataset

Desirable Knowledge:

• Familiarity with econometric software such as EViews and STATA

• Expertise or prior research experience in Public Finance, particularly relating to state and local government finance

✅ Responsibilities

Selected candidates will:

• Assist in data collection, compilation, and empirical analysis related to public finance

• Work with panel data and econometric models

• Contribute to drafting research papers, project reports, and presentations

• Support literature reviews and documentation
