The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai invites applications for multiple research positions on an ongoing basis. This is a rolling advertisement, which means eligible candidates can apply throughout the year. Available Positions

✅ Research Assistant – Level 1

Qualification: Master’s degree in Economics / Econometrics / Statistics / Social Sciences with good academic record

Skills: No mandatory requirement of computer/econometric software skills

Experience: Up to 1 year

Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹45,000 per month

✅ Research Assistant – Level 2

Qualification: Master’s degree in Economics / Econometrics / Statistics / Social Sciences

Skills: Working knowledge of research software such as EViews / Stata, along with Windows & MS Office

Experience: 1–2 years

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹55,000 per month

✅ Research Assistant – Level 3

Qualification: Master’s degree in Economics / Econometrics / Statistics / Social Sciences

Skills: Quantitative techniques & econometric packages (EViews / Stata)

Experience: 2–3 years

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹60,000 per month

Research Associate

✅ Level 1

Qualification: M.Phil in a relevant discipline

Salary: ₹50,000 – ₹75,000 per month

✅ Level 2

Qualification: PhD degree

Salary: ₹70,000 – ₹1,20,000 per month

Research Trainees / Interns

Eligibility: Minimum qualification – Graduate

Tenure: Up to 3 months

Stipend: ₹8,000 per month

Best suited for students aiming to gain research exposure, data-handling experience, and academic research training.

Junior Research Assistants

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline

Tenure: Initially for 6 months, extendable up to 11 months (No further extension after 11 months)

Salary: ₹10,000 – ₹20,000 per month

This recruitment is project-based. Duration may vary from short term to a maximum of 1 year depending on project requirements.
